Serving The Leelanau

Community

Serving the Community

At Leelanau School, we are part of a small community, but believe we can make a big impact on our world.

Community Recycling

All Non-Hazardous Waste May Be Recycled on our Campus Recycling Center in cooperation with the Leelanau County Recycling Program. Available to the public, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is the main method of recycling for our community.

Beach Clean Up Days

Students participate several times a year in beach clean up, not just on the school’s shore, but on local lakes and shores.

Piping Plover Program

2020欧洲杯在线投注In Cooperation with the National Parks Service, Leelanau School students volunteer to protect one of Michigan’s Endangered species from extinction by protecting the nesting sites of the Piping Plover.

Tennis & Pickleball Courts

In the fall of 2014, our school’s tennis courts were resurfaced through a grant from the Glen Lake Parks Department.

The community is encouraged and welcome to play on our courts! We have four beautiful courts lined for tennis and pickleball, just waiting for you to play.

Finding the courts:

When you enter campus, on the right you will see a small sign on the right that will direct you toward the tennis courts. There is parking near the courts, windscreens, benches and even scorecards!

Please follow normal court rules and etiquette. We are excited to have you visit!

Campus Rentals and Event Planning

Our campus has spaces that make it ideal for family reunions, weddings, sports groups and other organizations. We can rent facilities from a conference room, dining hall, dorms, cabins and even our beach. Each summer we host weddings, university teams and high school clubs in our cabins and dorms. With the endless activities, quality food service and comfortable facilities, The Leelanau School makes a great location for many events and organizations. Plan your next event at The Leelanau School – we have so much to offer!

Weddings

Situated on the Leelanau Peninsula in Northwestern Michigan, the Leelanau School sits on 42 acres of a beautiful landscape of woods and Lake Michigan beach with the Crystal River running through the middle. A truly idyllic setting snuggled up against what Good Morning America called the “”.

Your ideal wedding may be large or small. The ceremony may be simple or elegant. It’s up to you at Leelanau. We’d love to show you all the possibilities for your special day.
